I know in this one occasion it saved you money , but what are your reasons for not betting the turn, make the straight draw pay. As it turns out that was the perfect turn card for you, with some rivers you could of stacked off.

You cant possibly of convinced yourself of him having JQ after the call on the flop.

Reasons checking is bad

1) You miss value from draws
2) You let a lot of bad cards come off that could a) make your opponet a better hand or b) freeze the action so you cant get any value
3) You dont set up a good psr so u can get stacks in on the river
4) you dont let your opponet ship with hands like TJ, KJ, KQ, 9J, 8J, gs+ fd etc

It's largely been covered already but my line here is; call the raise pre as u did, bet the flop quite big as u did.

Turn I am betting out about 2.60 into the 3.45 pot. The King doesn't pose any real threat to your hand so I don't know why you check it. No straights complete, he could quite feasibly have just made 2 pair with the K, the bet is getting value out of drawing and 2 pair hands and in this case top pair, what with the weird flat oop with KQ. You will get called worse and reshoved worse when u bet here. If the river fires off a safe card and he checks to u again, he then has 6 dollars left for u to bet into the 8 - 9 dollar pot.

I was really paranoid at that moment, I just asked myself with which hand he could flat call the flop bet with. After the showdown I obv was upset, as you all say I should have just bet it...
Thanks for the constructive responses. Hopefully some discussion will be done on this forum again instead of strange postings without any sense.
